WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This crustacean has an elongated body ending in an abdomen folded beneath the cephalothorax, giving it an outline resembling a small spiny lobster. Its shell is generally pinkish to reddish, often covered in small spines and ridges. Its long antennae and slender legs give it a slim appearance. The claws are relatively long and slender, adapted to handling food and searching for it in crevices.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It lives mainly on soft or rocky seabeds, often in deep or moderately deep areas. It occurs in shelters such as cracks, crevices or boulder fields, where it finds protection during the day.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
It is an opportunistic species that consumes organic debris, animal remains and small benthic organisms. It uses its claws and legs to search the sediment and collect food particles available on the seabed.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
