About us
A team of divers sharing knowledge of the underwater world
L’équipe Dive.Explo360 is a French non-profit association founded under the 1901 Associations Act, born of a shared passion: diving, observing and sharing the richness of the underwater world.
Above all, we are a group of friends who have been diving together for many years. These dives provide the images, observations and knowledge that we then choose to share through Dive.Explo360.
Dive.Explo360 grew out of the underwater images captured by members of our team during dives in the natural environment. They are the starting point for our work to document marine life and share knowledge.
We want to inspire observation, help people identify species, make understanding possible and share knowledge of nature that is accessible to everyone.
From diving to knowledge
The Mediterranean, where our journey began
The project grew out of many years of diving around the Hyères islands, particularly Porquerolles and Port-Cros. The Mediterranean remains our main and best documented region: we film species in their natural environment, their behaviour, interactions and the landscapes in which they live.
These observations then become the starting point for interconnected learning resources:

An organism spotted in a video can lead to its identification, its profile, a question, an article or a learning path that takes the discovery further.

We have chosen to bring public discovery and knowledge of marine life together. The same species, habitat or phenomenon can be explored at different reading levels.

The aim remains the same: to help everyone understand, with words and a depth of explanation suited to their level.
Tools to spark curiosity
Observation leads to questions
clic-M.O.I helps you identify what appears during an interactive dive. dis-MOI lets visitors explore general knowledge and answers relevant to their selected region, depending on published translations. Guides, articles and learning paths offer further detail. Games extend the discovery, and Explorarium lets divers build a personal logbook.
During its testing period, the full version of dis-MOI is available free of charge to all visitors.
An observation prompts a question, the question leads to a discovery, and the discovery makes you want to observe more.
A team with complementary skills
A shared adventure
Team members contribute in particular through their observations and the images they bring back from their dives. Website design, digital tool development, editing and image processing then turn this material into learning experiences.
Content and creations remain the property of their respective authors; their use within Dive.Explo360 is governed by the usage rights defined by the association.
We put the project and its observations first, while keeping the Mediterranean at the heart of our story.
Looking out across the seas
Contributors
Contributors’ observations are gradually extending this collection to the Red Sea, the Maldives and Raja Ampat. These regions do not yet have the same depth of documentation as the Mediterranean. Other videographers can join the initiative by sharing their footage and experience in the field.
Each contributor has an individual profile presenting their work, the regions they explore and links to their website and social media.
Because it is hard to want to protect what we do not know
Our ambition is to make marine biodiversity visible, understandable and accessible, both to divers and to children discovering what lies beneath the surface.
Dive after dive, we build a visual record of marine life, primarily in the Mediterranean. This natural history approach is grounded in observations from specific places; it does not claim to be a comprehensive scientific survey.

How we work
An independent and open association
An independent association
L’équipe Dive.Explo360 develops the project using the resources of the association and its members. To date, our funding comes mainly from our own funds, without regular institutional or federation support.
This independence lets us develop our tools freely, but also limits our ability to raise awareness of them and make them more widely available.
We welcome partnerships, support, collaborations and educational outreach projects that can bring these resources to new audiences.
Do you work with the sea?
Diving clubs, associations, schools, educators, professional organisations, local authorities, museums, aquariums and other organisations connected with the sea can use Dive.Explo360 under a licence suited to their use.
Personal use of the site remains free; group, educational, professional and screening uses are covered by Dive.Explo360 licences.
