This large fish with a bulky, rounded body has a broad head and an imposing mouth with thick lips. Its colour varies from brown to dark brown, scattered with many lighter spots on the body and head. Young individuals often show more contrasting colours. Its caudal fin is rounded and edged with a thin pale margin.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It mainly lives on rocky seabeds rich in shelters, such as caves, fissures or overhangs. It occurs from shallow water down to several dozen metres, sometimes deeper. It often remains faithful to a specific territory.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
