This large marine mollusc is distinguished by its thick, flexible body, covered in irregular raised areas forming small bumps. It can reach a substantial size, making it easy to spot. Its colour varies from orange to purplish brown, sometimes with darker shades. Its appearance suggests a rough surface. It secretes mucus containing substances that deter predators.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It occurs on different seabed types, particularly sandy or rocky ones and seagrass beds. It generally lives between a few metres and several dozen metres deep, often resting on the bottom.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
