WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This octopus has a red to reddish-brown colour scattered with many clearly visible small pale spots. Its arms are very long and thin compared with its body, giving it a slender outline. Like other octopuses, it can change appearance quickly for camouflage. When threatened, it may adopt intimidating postures or move abruptly away by expelling water.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It frequents different seabed types, particularly sandy, rocky or seagrass-covered ones. Inconspicuous by day, it stays hidden in a shelter, beneath a stone or in a cavity, and becomes active at nightfall.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
It is a predator mainly feeding on crustaceans and other small benthic animals. It captures prey with its arms, then consumes it using its beak.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
