WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

The White seabream has an oval, compressed body, silvery grey in colour with sometimes slightly golden or greenish reflections. Dark vertical bands are often noticeable, more visible in the young. A black spot is present at the base of the tail. Its mouth, equipped with cutting teeth at the front and crushing teeth at the back, allows it to consume a wide variety of prey.

WHERE DOES IT LIVE?

It frequents coastal areas over varied seabeds: rocks, seagrass beds and mixed areas. The young often occupy very shallow water, while adults may move to deeper areas depending on conditions.

WHAT DOES IT EAT?

Its diet is varied. It consumes invertebrates such as crustaceans, molluscs, worms and sea urchins, but can also ingest algae, especially when young.
