WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This robust-bodied fish has dark colouring, generally greenish brown to blackish. Its body is fairly bulky, with a broad head and distinctive thick lips. Its fins may show faint bluish reflections, but it remains rather inconspicuous overall, allowing it to blend well into its surroundings.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It is mainly encountered in rocky areas rich in hiding places, but also in Posidonia seagrass meadows. It generally lives in shallow water, where it can easily hide in hollows and crevices.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
