WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This small, elongated fish has a slender outline and a fairly pronounced head. Its mouth is relatively small and slightly pointed. Its colour varies between individuals and periods, ranging from brownish grey to yellowish grey. During reproduction, males become more colourful and may display brighter shades. It can also slightly modify its colour between day and night.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It lives in shoals above different seabed types, whether sandy, rocky or covered in seagrass. It is often encountered between the surface and a few dozen metres deep. At night, it moves closer to the seabed and becomes less visible.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
