WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Four white bars mark the upper brown-to-grey body. The head has a strongly convex profile and large eyes. Outer tail rays are yellow to orange, with a reddish margin; published maximum length is about 35 cm.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
Its habitat combines reefs and neighbouring seabeds at 1 to 60 m. Its range covers the Indian Ocean and tropical western and central Pacific. Maldivian records represent only part of that range.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
Available evidence suggests benthic invertebrates, including gastropods and echinoderms, taken mainly at night. This remains a probable diet description and does not establish a definite link to a particular prey species.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
