Brown wrasse

Distribution : Mediterranean · Atlantic Ocean

In a rocky crevice or at the edge of a seagrass meadow, the Brown wrasse often reveals itself at the last moment. Its dark outline and thick lips make it easy to recognise. Territorial and wary, it patrols near the seabed looking for small invertebrates.

WHAT DOES IT EAT?

It feeds on small seabed animals, such as crustaceans, molluscs, worms and sometimes sea urchins, caught by searching the substrate.
