WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
A tall outline, two black bands on a white and yellow body and a strongly elongated fourth dorsal ray are characteristic. Two small dark projections lie above the eyes. Maximum size is about 18 cm.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
This species of the Red Sea–Gulf of Aden region occupies reefs at 1–50 m. Its distribution must be distinguished from that of other, sometimes very similar, bannerfish species.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
It takes zooplankton and benthic invertebrates. Juveniles can clean other fish. This diet does not automatically support assigning coral feeding observed in neighbouring butterflyfish to it.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
