WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?
These stingrays have flattened discs and slender tails much longer than their bodies. Visible features identify the group but do not establish a species. Disc width and the presence of tail spines must be assessed for each individual.WHERE DO THEY LIVE?
This family occupies numerous tropical and temperate coastal habitats. Several species occur around the Maldives. The depth range of one species should therefore not be applied to the whole group.WHAT DO THEY EAT?
Stingray diets include bottom-dwelling invertebrates such as worms, crustaceans and molluscs. Some species also take fishes. This variety does not justify assigning the same prey list to every ray shown in the film.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
