WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

The blue-grey body bears black rings. Yellow lips and a flattened tail are key features. Adults are around a metre long, with females generally larger than males.

WHERE DOES IT LIVE?

Reefs near islands provide crevices to explore. This amphibious snake also needs land shelters; it is not exclusively pelagic.

WHAT DOES IT EAT?

It mainly searches for elongated fish such as morays and conger eels. This specialisation does not establish predation on the giant moray filmed elsewhere.
