COMMENT EST-IL ?

Ce céphalopode au corps souple possède huit bras munis de ventouses. Il est capable de modifier très rapidement la couleur et l’aspect de sa peau pour se fondre dans son environnement. Son corps sans squelette lui permet de se faufiler dans des espaces très étroits. Il dispose d’un bec dur, caché au centre des bras, et d’une vision performante. Son sang, riche en cuivre, lui donne une teinte bleutée.

OÙ VIT-IL ?

On le rencontre sur des fonds variés, notamment rocheux, sableux ou dans les herbiers. Il vit seul et s’abrite dans une cavité qu’il peut aménager et camoufler avec des coquilles ou des pierres.

QUE MANGE-T-IL ?

C’est un chasseur actif qui se nourrit principalement de crustacés, de mollusques et parfois de poissons. Il capture ses proies avec ses bras puis utilise son bec pour les ouvrir ou les percer.
