WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This sponge most often has a rounded or irregular shape, sometimes forming a lobed mass. Its colour ranges from pale yellow to orange. It generally has one or more visible surface openings through which water is expelled. Its consistency is flexible to firm and its surface is relatively smooth, sometimes slightly bumpy.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It lives on different types of seabed, on both rocky substrates and soft bottoms. It can attach to hard objects in sedimentary areas. It occurs at different depths, generally in calm to moderately exposed environments.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
Like all sponges, it feeds by filtering water. Microscopic particles, such as bacteria and organic debris, are captured as water passes through its tissues, and water is then expelled through its openings. This process contributes to recycling matter in the marine environment.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
