WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
This goby has an elongated, inconspicuous body adapted to life near the seabed. Its colouring is generally greyish to light brown, sometimes marked with faint dark spots. Its large scales are one of its distinctive features, giving its skin a slightly shiny appearance. Individuals may show small colour differences according to sex and age, but variations remain limited.WHERE DOES IT LIVE?
It lives on rocky or detrital seabeds, often near deeper, sheltered areas. It is generally encountered from a few tens to over a hundred metres deep. It frequents cavities, overhangs and crevices where it finds refuge.WHAT DOES IT EAT?
Its diet is based on small benthic invertebrates. It catches crustaceans and worms living on or in the sediment in particular. It hunts opportunistically near its shelter.GO FURTHER WITH AMIGANSEAU
